Fifty-four pieces (18.45–18.99), now including the three lead-in vessels 1845–1847 just below the block; only 1866 was never photographed and has no page. Two families give the range its name. The boulders — closed, rock-like handbuilt vessels with small, torn, or crater mouths — run from 1852’s chalk-veined stone to 1879’s crater-mouthed orb and 1891’s pierced rock. The white linings — dark, gritty cups that open onto bright, crazed white interiors — run from 1876 to 1897, with 1894’s torn scalloped rim the most theatrical of them.

Around those two spines: a zebra-banded pair (1888, 1890), white thread-lines (1884, 1886), warm peach patches (1880, 1885, 1886), slate and granite washes (1855, 1856, 1871, 1874), the run’s first strongly red piece (1883), a terracotta three-color cup (1895), a lichen-crusted one-off (1872), and a blue-flecked closer (1899). The four openers 1848–1851 were photographed in the studio on a blue banding wheel — the only studio shots in the range.
