Dark handbuilt ceramic cup with a grey sandy band dripping over its black body and warm peach patches, piece 1880 of A Penny For Your Pottery.

A cup wearing two weathers at once: a grey, sandy band around the rim lets go in drip-tongues over the near-black body — the “dipped horizon” of 1868, but melting — while warm peach patches bloom through the dark below, one holding a single glossy bead. Both photos keep pink-buff crust at the rim’s edge. Handbuilt, layered, and all of it strictly as-photographed.

What’s the little shiny spot? A lone glossy bead caught inside the largest peach patch — the photos show it gleam and leave its story untold. Piece 1880 of 10,000, listed at $18.80.
