Why is there blue on a bare black pot? Two pieces in the black clay run carry small glassy blue marks — sparse scattered flecks on 1750, and on 1751 a distinct blue patch near the rim with flecks trailing across the body. They catch light the way glass does, and the store’s title for 1751 calls them blue glaze inclusions; the pages quote that without asserting what melted where.
Against the matte dark clay the effect is tiny but loud — the only color event in a colorless run.
