Why is the whole top of the pot blue? Three reviewed pieces from the 2001–2050 range carry a vivid ultramarine-to-cobalt granular crust across broad fields — not flecks, whole territories. On 2037 it coats the entire crown like lapis, mixed with white grit, with blue-grey drips escaping down the shoulders; on 2041 and 2042 it pools and patches around tiny crown mouths among white glassy beads and foam blobs, flashing iridescent in the workshop sun the studio photos caught.
The registry keeps this apart from blue-flecks, which names small blue glassy flecks and pools — broad matte coverage was ruled out of that term twice (pieces 2030 and 2037) before this one existed. What the blue is — glaze, slip, mineral — is never asserted. Approved in the 2026-07-12 batch-12 ruling with all three members arriving in one batch.
