The busiest surface of the young range: a grey-taupe handbuilt amphora — pinched neck, flared torn rim, two loops — scattered with incised dashes and curves (scored marks, the third member in five numbers), crusted with pale ash-like deposits that run into glassy drips, and lit here and there by small blue glassy flecks glinting in the pale zones. A pressed rosette sits mid-flank like a wax seal.
What’s the rosette on piece 2014? A small spiral relief pressed into the clay — the only one in the reviewed catalog so far, and the page will just point at it rather than name it. Piece 2014 of 10,000, listed at $20.14.
