Forty-four consecutive photographed pieces of bare, unglazed dark clay — the largest reviewed stretch of the series so far, now picking up the lead-in 1726 just below its span. Every piece’s price is its number times one cent, so this range runs from $17.26 to $17.69. The span is now fully photographed, with no reserve gaps.
The whole run is handbuilt — pinched and coiled, with torn, uneven rims — and left as bare clay rather than glazed. Within that one family, the photos show several distinct textures:
- Pale speckling in the clay — embedded particles the store calls “groggy”: 1726, 1732, 1736, 1738, 1759, 1760, 1761 (the heaviest), 1762
- Dark protruding grit — surface nodules: 1729, 1730, 1732, 1733, 1735, 1737, 1738, 1739, 1741, 1742, 1744, 1745, 1746
- Pale wash-like patches — a thin light coating over the dark body: 1748 (with its number incised in the base), 1763, 1764, 1768, 1769
- Blue accents — tiny glassy blue flecks: 1750, 1751
- Cloth left in the clay — fabric impressions: 1757, 1758
- Cut-in texture — allover scored marks: 1756
- Pieces that photograph brown — the clay body is black (the maker confirms it), but in these listing photos the fired surfaces read warm brown, and the piece pages say so: 1740–1747
