Twenty-two photographed pieces of rough, handbuilt vessels whose store titles keep saying the same words: wild clay, red clay, local clay. Every piece’s price is its number times one cent, so this stretch runs from $16.92 to $17.14. One number inside the span (1696) has no photographed listing and no page.
The whole stretch is handbuilt — pinched, coiled, torn at the rim — and most of it photographs terracotta red. Within that family, the photos show several distinct looks:
- Metal-like glint — a pewter metallic sheen, cause never asserted: 1692, 1697 (with a glassy amber rim band), 1706 (the strongest)
- Coils left visible — stacked coil ridges climbing the wall: 1699, 1701 (softer seams on 1698, 1700, 1708 stay in prose)
- Glossy black studding — protruding surface nodules the store calls “Lake Erie Inclusions”: 1702, 1703
- Pale specks in the body — embedded particles: 1694, 1697, 1710
- White crusty deposits — heavy on 1714, lighter on 1712; what they are, the photos don’t say
- A number in the clay — 1697 carries its number incised in its base
- Colors off the main red — 1694 photographs dusty mauve, 1709 dusty rose-brown, 1710 charcoal-dark, 1692 and 1706 deep brown; those pages describe the color without naming a color tag

Every page above was reviewed against its actual listing photos. Only 1700’s photos carry a capture date (April 23, 2025); the rest of the stretch’s image files carry none, so the range page is how this run hangs together.
