Piece 1713 is a handbuilt cup in terracotta-red clay, tapering from a wide, torn rim down to a narrow base. Distinct horizontal coil ridges step down the body, and pale, grog-like particles — some flush, some erupting as small cream nodules — freckle the red surface. The uneven walls and rim read as hand-forming rather than wheel-work. Shelves of other studio pieces sit softly out of focus behind it.
