A chunky handbuilt vessel whose red-brown body nearly disappears under heavy white crusty deposits — melted-looking patches that cover most of the surface and turn glassy where they reach the rough, torn rim. The interior photographs reddish. The store’s whole title is two words: “Local Clay.” Its neighbor 1712 wears a lighter version of the same pale crust.
What is the pale crust? The photos show thick pale deposits, glassy where they reach the rim. Piece 1,714 of 10,000, listed at $17.14.
