Prices run $18.29 to $18.44; one number in the span (1836) has no photographed listing and no page. The whole run reads like it was dug out of the ground — and it splits into two surface moods:
- Frost over soil — pale speckle scattered across dark clay, clearest on 1829, 1832 and 1833 (the frost-speckled trio), with 1830’s even sandy grain, 1831’s sparser flecks, and 1837’s white lace-mottle as its relatives.
- Metal under lamplight — graphite, copper, and silver lusters on 1838 through 1841, strongest on 1840, with 1834, 1839 and 1843 holding milky and amber glossy pools at rim, crown, and cup-well.
