Open handbuilt dark ceramic bowl with sparse pale speckle, photographed on a studio floor, piece 1831 of A Penny For Your Pottery.

The one clear open handbuilt bowl of the dark 1829–1844 run — an uneven rim circling a wide mouth, the dark body flecked here and there with pale specks, sparser than the frost-dusted vessels either side of it. The base carries the number 1831, incised.

Is this one a bowl? Yes — most of its neighbors are ambiguous vessels, but this one reads plainly as an open bowl in every shot. Piece 1831 of 10,000, listed at $18.31.
