The dramatic one of the painted family: where 2081 dabs, this cup gets swept. A large black ink-wash mass runs right across the body with pale-blue washes breaking through it like sky through storm, a second dark lobe crowding in from the right, and black drips running down to the foot. Up close the black field carries a cluster of small raised blisters, beaded and catching the light, and the glossy cream ground around it crazes into a fine crack network. All of it is brushed decoration, fired permanent.
The far side is the opposite of all that: bare quiet cream, crossed low by one black band stroke that thickens and thins as it goes, with a small dark smear riding beside it. Underneath, “2083” is incised into the bare base — scratched in, not written.
How much of the cup is painted? Most of one hemisphere. The blob commits, wrapping farther than any single view can hold, which is why the listing walks all the way around it. Piece 2083 of 10,000, listed at $20.83.
