Cream ceramic cup wrapped in thin dark lines crossing like string, under a pale grey rim band, piece 1931 of A Penny For Your Pottery.

Thin dark lines wrap this cream cup like string wound loose — some run near-horizontal, some cross at diagonals, all with dry skips where they thin. It inverts the batch-9 look of white threads on dark: here the threads are dark and the body pale. The lines’ method isn’t provable from the photo — trailed, inlaid, or drawn — so they carry no decoration tag; the pale grey rim band above them does.

Why no brushwork tag like its neighbors? Because these lines don’t show brush edges — and this catalog only tags what the photo proves. Piece 1931 of 10,000, listed at $19.31.
