The painted family from May 4 continues. A white-ground cup carries a big glossy black panel brushed vertically down one side — the black pooled thick enough to crawl and gloss — with sky-blue washes bleeding around it and a scatter of dark speckle. Like 2159, it goes half-dark, a bold block of black weighed against the pale rest. The base carries “2167” handwritten in black.
A black stripe down the side? A broad brushed panel of black glaze running vertical, framed by blue — the second of the hand-painted cups breaking up the streaked whites. Piece 2167 of 10,000, listed at $21.67.
