A cream cup whose walls flare gently from a narrow flat base, decorated differently on its two faces. One face carries a single bold vertical black brush stroke running most of the wall height, bristle-dry at the edges, with a cluster of rounded steel-blue blots beside it and a small dark pit inside the largest blot. The opposite face answers with a broad sky-blue wash across the lower body, a dark navy patch at the rim above it, and one small olive-tan streaked speck sitting inside the blue. Fine dark speckle scatters across the cream on both faces. The interior floor is grey-tan with faint ring marks and a few small dark specks; the base is a bare unglazed off-white disc with “2113” handwritten in black.
Is it the same cup on both sides? Barely: one face holds the single black stroke and its steel-blue blots, the other a sky-blue wash with a navy patch and one olive-tan speck. Piece 2113 of 10,000, listed at $21.13.
