Ten photos for the vessel run’s grand finale: a large flaring form whose pale sandy body is densely speckled with dark grit and studded with glossy black tar-like beads, some caught mid-drip. The speckle gathers in bands, thins on one side, and occasionally disappears under pale smeared crusty patches — several with a black glossy bead at their heart and a faint rust tinge, smeared over the storm rather than erupting from it, which is why this piece stands beside the erupting vessels rather than among them. The crown tears upward into flying wing-points; inside, the surface goes suddenly smooth and pale cream, the calm half of a loud pot. The base carries “2080” incised and legible.
How many speckles? Uncountable — the listing tries anyway, ten photos deep, and the beads still outnumber the pictures. Piece 2080 of 10,000, listed at $20.80.
