Bare bone-white handbuilt ceramic globe jar with a torn crusty opening and pale shard plates erupting from the flank, piece 2078 of A Penny For Your Pottery.

A bare bone-white globe with no true rim — just a torn, crusty opening at the top where a rim would go — its matte body brushed with faint swirled trail lines. Two pale shard plates surface mid-flank, one triangular and one crescent, their edges crackled where they erupted through the wall: kin to the plates all over 2077, here on naked clay instead of satin glaze. The in-hand photo sets its scale at comfortably-cupped. No base photo, so the base stays its own business.

Where’s the rim? There isn’t one — the globe simply tears open at the crown, and the opening wears its crust like a collar. Piece 2078 of 10,000, listed at $20.78.
