The darkest of the six-cup chawan run that began at 2055: a chocolate-black gritty body with tan sandy patches breaking through like clearings, a rust-red band near the foot, and the family’s thick glossy dark crust at the rim — here heavy enough to hang drip lines down the wall. Three photos, all exterior; the base and the deep interior keep to themselves, so this page does too.
How dark is it really? Espresso-dark — the tan patches and rust foot-band are the only places the body lets any light in. Piece 2060 of 10,000, listed at $20.60.
