A flat, roughly square slab with slightly irregular edges, photographed in the August 16 batch. The top face is a mottled dark brown, streaked, with a pale cream patch near one corner and darker, near-black patches scattered across the surface. The underside is bare, near-black clay, marked with a handwritten “2355” in pale pigment; in the lower right of the base, away from the numerals, sits a pale, crusty, irregularly shaped patch.
What is the pale patch on the underside? A crusty-textured spot of pale cream and tan with an irregular outline, holding its own corner of the dark base. Piece 2355 of 10,000, listed at $23.55.
