Unglazed terracotta-red ceramic bowl with an uneven, undulating rim, a dark glaze line at the rim, and a glossy ivory-cream glazed interior visible through the opening, piece 2292 on a white background.

An unglazed terracotta-red bowl in bare clay, its rough matte wall finely pitted and set throughout with small pale embedded flecks. The rim runs markedly uneven and undulating in profile, and a dark brown-black glaze line rings it exactly where the red exterior meets the glossy ivory-cream glaze of the interior. The body tapers from the wide rim to a narrower rounded base that curves continuously, with no flat resting plane or foot ring, and the base carries “2292” handwritten in a pale hand. A fine dark hairline mark sits on the mid-body, soft creases fold the lower wall on one side, and a small cluster of dark specks rests off-center in the interior well.

Red outside, ivory inside? The outside is bare, finely pitted terracotta-red clay and the inside is a glossy ivory-cream glaze, with a dark line ringing the rim where the two meet. Piece 2292 of 10,000, listed at $22.92.
