One ear, not two — which leaves this sandy pink-tan jar outside both the amphora and bottle columns of the ledger, a one-eared cousin with a single small pierced loop at its shoulder. What it lacks in symmetry it spends on surface: the whole shoulder is webbed in crazed pale crust, flat mud-crack plates over the warm handbuilt body, purple-dark shadows pooling in the crack lines while pale drips run down the flank below.
Why doesn’t piece 2016 get a form name? The registry’s jars come two-handled or none — one ear fits neither box, so the shape stays prose and the crust does the identifying. Piece 2016 of 10,000, listed at $20.16.
