Pale handbuilt ceramic bottle-form jar with a short neck, small dish-like collar, and purple-brown crusted patches, piece 2004 of A Penny For Your Pottery.

A lumpy pale ovoid rising to a short neck and a small flared, dish-like collar — the necked, no-handle bottle silhouette in sandstone tones. The handbuilt body wears purple-brown crusted patches down one flank, the same rusty family that crowns 2001, with scattered dark pinholes and a chip-ragged rim edge left exactly as fired. No glaze gloss anywhere: all bare matte clay.

What would piece 2004 hold? Whatever fits past a collar the size of a coin — the form quotes a bottle more than it insists on being one. Piece 2004 of 10,000, listed at $20.04.
