Dimpled handbuilt ceramic cup in pocked pinholed cream glaze with warm tan patches, piece 1955 of A Penny For Your Pottery.

A handbuilt cup whose cream surface is pocked all over with tiny pinholes, like sea-foam gone still, warmed here and there by toast-tan patches. The dimpled wall keeps the knuckle marks; the interior turns smooth and glossy white. With 1952’s rim band and 1956, it makes a quiet pinholed family at the head of the run.

Is the texture rough to the touch? The macro suggests fine tooth rather than grit, but hands didn’t review this page — photos did. Piece 1955 of 10,000, listed at $19.55.
