An open handbuilt cup with a torn rim and a small foot, close kin to its neighbour. The warm dark-brown bare wall carries a pale beaded crust that here runs glossier — several deposits have melted into smooth, glassy white patches alongside the raised beads. The close-up shows one such patch pooled thick and translucent; the wider shot sets the cup between grey cinder blocks in the sun.
How does 1818 differ from the cup before it? Its pale crust reads more melted — glossy white patches pooling among the beads rather than staying dry and knobbly — though both are described by look alone. Piece 1818 of 10,000, listed at $18.18.
