A tall, roughly cylindrical vessel that stands noticeably taller than it is wide, crowned by a jagged, torn rim broken into ridges like bark or eroded rock. Vertical dragged ridges run down from the crown, and the whole dark brown wall is a rough, sand-textured surface softened by a pale dusting. The hand-formed walls and torn crown carry no throwing rings. It is photographed on a wooden windowsill and, in the second frame, beside a wooden cabinet.
Is the top meant to look broken? The rim is deliberately ragged and ridged, left craggy rather than smoothed — the crown is the point of the piece. Piece 1803 of 10,000, listed at $18.03.
