A flat, roughly square slab with slightly irregular edges, photographed in the August 16 batch. The top face is mottled brown and streaked, with a substantial patch of pale cream streaking along one edge and a small glossy black patch on the surface. The underside is bare, dark clay carrying “2357” handwritten in pale pigment, with a faint circular ring impression in the clay around the numerals.
What is the pale band along the edge? A broad run of cream and white streaking that follows one edge of the face, standing out against the mottled brown ground. Piece 2357 of 10,000, listed at $23.57.
