Flat rectangular ceramic slab with three cream trailed streaks down a mottled grey-brown surface, piece 2338 of A Penny For Your Pottery.

The range opens with a flat, roughly rectangular slab whose irregular edges look hand-torn. In profile the cross-section is thin: a pale grey top face over a rough, near-black band along the bottom edge. Cream trailed marks decorate the slab: three parallel vertical streaks of varying width, and elsewhere a stem rising to a jagged burst beside a spray of spiky marks. The back is uniformly dark, near black, and carries “2338” handwritten in cream.

What is the burst shape? A cream stem climbs from the lower middle of the slab to a jagged, spiky burst, with a separate spray of jagged marks and small spatter dots to its right. Piece 2338 of 10,000, listed at $23.38.
