The June-08 group closes on the first of the crust cups. A small cylinder cup is encased in a thick pale beaded crust — knobbly and rock-like, with brown and black bits caught in the pale build-up — while inside a smooth glossy white glaze pools clean. The rim is torn; the base carries “2245” handwritten. Four more of these encrusted cups follow.
Why does it look like a rock? Its whole outside is a thick, knobbly pale crust, rough as weathered stone, wrapped around a smooth glazed cup within. Piece 2245 of 10,000, listed at $22.45.
