The brushed run gives way to something pressed into the clay itself. A dark iron-black glaze covers most of the bowl but has crawled and peeled back in wide patches to bare the cream body beneath — and where it pulls away, a leaf impression shows crisp in the clay, its full vein structure pressed in like a fossil. A conical footed bowl, pale within, dark and leaf-marked without. The base carries “2220” handwritten.
Is that a real leaf? A leaf was pressed into the wet clay and left its silhouette and veins behind; the dark glaze then crawled off to reveal the print. What kind of leaf is left unnamed. Piece 2220 of 10,000, listed at $22.20.
