Here the black takes over one side. A cream chawan carries pale-blue washes drifting across the wall and, dominating a whole flank, a big glossy black patch crawled into a crumpled lava-like crust — the same thick reactive black that marked 2151 back at the range’s start, now on a tea bowl. Dark speckle flecks the rest. Beside the black, thin brown squiggles run loose and drippy down the cream, looping like quick handwriting. Up close the black surface is pebbled, raised in small rounded dots across the crust. The base carries “2176” handwritten.
That crumpled black again? A broad glossy black patch, cracked and pooled like cooled lava against the cream, its surface pebbled with small raised dots, the boldest dark mass of the early chawans. Piece 2176 of 10,000, listed at $21.76.
