Tall handbuilt ceramic cup dry-brushed in navy over white, with a maroon-plum patch showing beneath the strokes, piece 2102 of A Penny For Your Pottery.

Taller sibling to 2101, same weather: a handbuilt cup scrubbed all over with dry-brushed navy, white ground flashing through the scratchy strokes. Its five photos include a close macro that shows what the brushing half-hides — a maroon-plum patch sitting under the navy on one flank, a tiny yellow-green fleck, and a scatter of pinholes in the thicker glaze, all recorded as looks. The base carries “2102” handwritten on bare clay.

What’s under the navy? On one flank, a maroon-plum patch the dry brush rode straight over — the macro photo catches it glowing through the strokes. Piece 2102 of 10,000, listed at $21.02.
