A small waisted handmade cup — wide through the belly, drawing in to a short straight neck, sitting on a narrow foot. The ground is pale cream, streaked horizontally with soft blue and mottled grey-green, glossy over it all, the kind of brushed ground that looks like weather seen through a window.
The writing sits right on top of it in black. “I” stands alone up near the rim with a blue dot beside it; “kee” runs across the middle; and along the bottom, clear as a caption, it’s nothing. Carry on around the cup and another line starts — “I wa” — before a solid black field takes the wall and the sentence goes behind it. They are handwritten words, printed rather than joined, sized by whatever room was left.
Underneath, on the bare base over its spiral rings, “2091” is handwritten in black.
