A straight-sided handmade cup, slightly waisted, rim running uneven, bare pale clay showing at the foot. The ground is cloud: pale cream washed through with soft blue and blue-grey, warm tan surfacing in patches, a darker blue-grey line drawn round the rim — a brushed ground with no hard edges anywhere in it.
Over that, in black, one word written again and again: skating. It runs in three staggered rows around the wall — “skating”, “skating”, “Skating” — some upright, some sloping, the letters thinning where the brush ran dry and pooling where it didn’t, each pass a slightly different size from the one above it. These are handwritten words in the plainest sense: the same word, over and over, until it wrapped the cup.
Looking in, the interior is pale cream-grey and glossy with a faint spiral in the floor, and the rim speckles blue where the outside washes came over the edge. Underneath, “2089” is handwritten in black on the bare base. Its seven photos were taken on August 5, 2026 — see everything photographed that day.
