A chalky white cup with a handle that refuses to behave: a gnarled, visibly twisted handbuilt handle jutting straight out to the side like a little pan grip, its blunt end torn rather than tucked. The rim and upper body run glossy white; the lower body goes matte and crackled. One flank opens a small star-shaped fissure in the glaze — recorded here exactly as photographed. Inside, the greige matte well holds glossy blob traces. Its twin, 2069, wears the same white body and the same sideways twist.
Why does the handle stick out sideways? Because it was shaped by hand, twisted, and left exactly where the maker’s hand stopped — one of two cups in the range that carry the gesture. Piece 2068 of 10,000, listed at $20.68.
