The clearest of the blue rims: milky blue-white glaze pools along this chawan’s lip inside and out, breaking over a speckled sandy body brushed with maroon and grey. Four photos follow the band around the handbuilt wall; the top-down view finds a faint glaze ring tracing the gritty floor, noted and left small.
Why call it the family’s clearest? Because 1973 started the blue thread and 1989 carried it — this rim wears it widest. Piece 1990 of 10,000, listed at $19.90.
