A charcoal handbuilt cup seen from above and to the side, its torn rim folding inward and its rocky wall densely veined with pale speckle over the near-black body. Two round holes are bored through — one near the mouth, one on the lower front — and the piece rests in a white plaster tray on the studio floor.
Why are there two holes? Both are pierced clean through the wall, one high and one low; the pages record the openings without reading any purpose into them. Piece 1773 of 10,000, listed at $17.73.
