Every piece in this series carries the same recurring line in its listing description:

“This is handmade piece {N} of 10,000 ceramic pieces in this project. As of this piece, my hands are {N}x more used to the touch of clay.”

This page walks through eleven consecutive pieces in order, using that line as the thread connecting them.

  1. 2250 — hands 2,250x more used to the touch of clay.
  2. 2251 — 2,251x. Its number is hand-painted directly onto the base.
  3. 2252 — 2,252x. A small abstract line mark appears inside.
  4. 2253 — 2,253x. Held in hand in its photos — and the last of the hand-painted base numbers.
  5. 2254 — 2,254x. The first incised base number — a shift in how the hands marked their work. A small interior mark echoes 2252’s.
  6. 2255 — 2,255x. A star-shaped cluster of speckling, seen from above.
  7. 2256 — 2,256x. A more angular, faceted cup than the rounder ones before it.
  8. 2257 — 2,257x.
  9. 2258 — 2,258x. An interior line drawing, visible from one angle.
  10. 2259 — 2,259x. The most photographed piece in the batch — six images of the same hands’ work.
  11. 2260 — 2,260x. The end of this walk, for now — hands 2,260 times more used to the touch of clay than when the project began.
