Pale ivory-sand handbuilt dish with charcoal-black veins marbled through the rim and flank, a torn rim, and a subtle sheen pooled in the floor, piece 613 of A Penny For Your Pottery.

The batch’s big color break: a bone-pale dish with charcoal-black veins threading the rim and one whole flank — dark lines pulled through pale clay, travelling over the torn rim and onto the underside. A subtle wet-look sheen pools in the shallow floor, and one crack line crosses a side, recorded as a visible line. The crusty pale base carries 613 incised on a smoother center pad.

Where do the veins go? Everywhere the eye can follow — over the rim, down the flank, onto the base; the page maps the route and doesn’t name the mechanism. Piece 613 of 10,000, listed at $6.13.
