Wide low rust-brown handbuilt dish with a swirled ring floor, torn rim, and a horizontal split line running around the outer wall, piece 609 of A Penny For Your Pottery.

The widest of the soil-brown dishes, wearing its signature on the outside: a horizontal split line runs clear around the wall like a seam between stacked layers, the rim wall breaking away above it in one section. Inside, the floor swirls in concentric brushed rings, rust-brown mottled near-black, down from a torn rim with one deep notch. The near-black base carries 609 incised, fine cracks near the edge.

What’s the line around the wall? A seam the dish kept — as if it remembers being layers; the page reads it as a visible line and nothing further. Piece 609 of 10,000, listed at $6.09.
