Flat square ceramic slab with a glossy dark brown-black surface crossed by a pale crackled band, piece 2379 of A Penny For Your Pottery.

Photographed August 16, 2026: a flat, roughly square slab with rounded corners and a small notch at one corner. The top surface is a dark, glossy brown-to-black with a mottled, semi-metallic sheen, crossed about a third of the way down by a horizontal band of paler tan and cream webbed with fine crackle lines. A second, narrower pale band runs along the lower edge, and at the lower corners the surface thins to small pale patches with crackle texture at their edges. The base is dark and matte, carrying “2379” handwritten near its center beside two small paired oval indentations.

What is the pale band across the surface? A horizontal stripe of tan and cream crosses the dark glossy field about a third of the way down, filled with fine crackle lines, and a narrower pale band echoes it along the lower edge. Piece 2379 of 10,000, listed at $23.79.
