A week on from the painted cups, the run changes shape: a long May-11 family of chawan-style tea bowls — wider, wonkier-rimmed, thrown with visible rings and a turned foot. This first one sets the palette the whole group will play in — a cream ground brushed with soft blue washes, a glossy black patch crawled thick on one flank, and a peppering of dark speckle across the rest. The base carries “2174” handwritten.
