Frost-white handbuilt ceramic bowl-cup with a pitted matte black field swallowing one flank and lapping over the rim, piece 2137 of A Penny For Your Pottery.

A rounded handbuilt bowl-cup where one whole flank belongs to a pitted black field — matte-satin, cratered with pinholes, its edge lapping over the rim onto the lip. The rest stays frost-white with soft sky-blue cloud patches, black speckle dabs, and a blue-grey wash pooling at the foot beside rust-brown crust dabs. Tilt it to raking light and two glossy circle outlines appear, drawn in clear sheen over the white — visible only when the light finds them. The base shows “2137” handwritten in black over crusted smears.

What are the invisible circles? Rings of clear gloss on matte ground — hidden straight-on, unmissable at an angle, explained nowhere. Piece 2137 of 10,000, listed at $21.37.
