Warm brown sandy handbuilt ceramic cup with thin glossed rim, piece 1974 of A Penny For Your Pottery.

A handbuilt chawan the color of wet riverbank, rust shading into grey up the gritty wall, the rim’s edge catching a thin line of gloss too narrow to call a band. Inside, a glaze wash settles glossy over the sandy floor — the drinking side polished, the holding side left stone.

Glazed or bare? Both, in layers: the eye reads bare rock outside and a sealed glossy well within — described exactly as far as the photos show. Piece 1974 of 10,000, listed at $19.74.
