A small, near-black handbuilt cup with a tapered body and a wavy, uneven rim that rises and dips around the mouth. The dark charcoal wall is coarse and granular all over, with a little pale mottling gathered near the rim. Photographed on the same plywood shelf and whitewashed wall as its neighbor 1795, it reads as a close sibling — one photo frames the open mouth up close, the other steps back to the full cup.
What gives the rim its wavy edge? The mouth rises and falls unevenly all the way around, left as it was pinched by hand — recorded by appearance, not as a flaw. Piece 1796 of 10,000, listed at $17.96.
