A vessel pale as packed sand, rough and granular end to end, tapering with a slight waist to the base; the jagged, crumbly rim carries a crack descending from one notch and a faint purple-brown patch at one edge. The only buff piece in this stretch of reds — kin to the sandy bottles back in the 1620s.
Where did the red go? This is the run’s one pale interruption — a sand-buff body standing between the red run’s two halves. Piece 1,676 of 10,000, listed at $16.76.
