A tall brick-red cup whose crown scallops into rounded merlons, a castle turret in miniature; the sandy wall is pocked, and fine ridge rings circle the foot. Photographed on the workshop table beneath the windowsill. It closes the first half of the red run — its numeric neighbor 1675 has no photographed listing.
Why a castle crown? The rim rises and falls in rounded merlons where the clay tore — battlements in miniature. Piece 1,674 of 10,000, listed at $16.74.
